Weaver Spotlight

Altaf khan a traditional Maheshwari handloom weaver with 7+ years of experience in weaving, motif graphing, jala making, and dobby design. He learnt weaving through community practice and professional training from Weavers Service Center and The Handloom School. He enjoy teaching weaving and have trained more than 30 people for livelihood development. Currently, he is work as a Technical Assistant at IDC, School of Desgin, IIT Bombay, where he trained more than 200 Sudents of BTech, BDes, MTech, MDes, and PhD students in weaving processes and manage's the weaving studio.
